PLC LAN Control System Case Study: Fengxian Sludge Treatment Plant – Fully Automated布料 Control for Mobile Gantry Spreader

The mobile gantry spreader at the Fengxian Sludge Treatment Plant evenly distributes dewatered sludge into the silo. The original control relied on manual operation, making distribution uniformity dependent on operator experience and delaying fault detection, which disrupted continuous production. This project implements unified PLC LAN control for the mobile gantry to achieve fully automated operation without human intervention. The spreader automatically cycles along a preset program to ensure uniform sludge distribution across all silo areas, preventing local accumulation or gaps. Equipped with equipment fault alerting, the system promptly notifies maintenance personnel of anomalies, reducing response times. After retrofitting, the spreader operates stably with significantly improved distribution uniformity, eliminating manual intervention. Maintenance staff can monitor real-time equipment status via the control interface.

The mobile gantry enables PLC LAN interconnection and fully automated operation, significantly improving material distribution uniformity in the silo. Manual intervention is eliminated, equipment failures are promptly alerted and pushed to users, and maintenance response efficiency is enhanced.

Data Scope and Validation Source: The above metrics are derived from on-site measurements under identical operating conditions before and after the retrofit (comparing energy meter readings with equipment operation logs). The statistical period covers 30 consecutive days of full operation post-retrofit. Motor energy efficiency ratings follow GB 18613-2020 and IEC 60034-30-1, while product efficiency values are cited from the manufacturer's factory test reports. Actual results may vary based on load rate, annual operating hours, and specific operating conditions.
